BBHSAadThe Back to Basics Horse Show Association (BBHSA) opens their show season with a two-day show March 29-30, 2014. Open to all breeds and disciplines, classes include English, Western, timed events, driving, over fences, gaited country pleasure, trail (English and Western), lead line, and short stirrup. Gates open at 7 a.m. both days; shows begin at 9 a.m. and are held at Lucky Drive Ranch in Catlett, Va. Classes are $7 for members, $10 for nonmembers, with a $3 judge’s fee (per entry).

BBHSA offers shows that “promote a love of horses in a relaxed, fun, and family-oriented atmosphere.” A nonprofit organization, BBHSA was started in 2000 and promotes “good horsemanship and sportsmanship, an appreciation for showing in a healthy, wholesome, and fun environment, and greater love of, and a humane attitude toward, horses.”
