The East Coast Stock Horse Association (ECSHA) hosts their Summer Shootout Show on July 5–6 in Reva, Va. There are two main classes at the shows: stock horse class, in which contestants complete a reining pattern and individual cow work; and ranch horse class, for participants competing in pleasure, reining, cutting, roping, and trail. All classes are offered in open, amateur, and youth divisions. A jackpot cattle drive (judged) class is offered at every show and consists of teams of two riders maneuvering two cows through a timed obstacle course.

ECSHA also will hold AQHA shows Sept. 6–7 and Oct. 4–5. The show Saturdays starts at 9 a.m., and on Sunday the show begins at 10 a.m. There is a potluck campfire dinner in the evening. The entry fee is $15; there is a $10 office fee/horse, a $5 AQHA and a $3 VQHA fee, and it is $30/team for jackpot cattle drive.
