Come join in the holiday spirit with the Clifton Horse Society (CHS), which hosts their annual holiday procession on horseback, complete with Christmas caroling, through Clifton, Va., on Dec. 6. The yearly traditional parade travels through the center of town to King’s Field and ends with costume judging and awards, refreshments, and a special guest appearance by Santa.

Festivities begin at 12:30 p.m., with arrival of participants and decoration of horses; the parade begins at 2 p.m. Participants must contact CHS by Dec. 4; also, volunteers are an essential part of the celebration and are needed as sidewalkers and to help serve refreshments. Contact Laura Mahoney (703.830.7204; email paintlady@cox.net) to ride in the parade and to volunteer.

The Clifton Horse Society, established in 1977, supports equestrian enthusiasts in Fairfax County and surrounding areas. For more information, visit the website at www.cliftonhorsesociety.org.
