In a major announcement from the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) the Virginia Horse Center (VHC) has officially been awarded the bid for the 2015 AQHA Nutrena East Level 1 (Novice) Championships.
The AQHA East Level 1 Championships will make the move from Murfreesboro, Tennessee to Lexington, Virginia for the 2015 edition of the show, to be held September 30 – October 4.

The Back to Basics Horse Show Association (BBHSA) in Catlett, Va., has updated their show schedule to reflect recent cancellations because of weather. Two weekends have been added this season: July 26–27 and Nov. 8–9, 2014; the pleasure, mini, and trail classes will be held on Saturday, and gymkhana and speed events will be held Sunday. Silver Star Farm in Spotsylvania, Va., continues their horse show season on June 28, 2014. The pleasure show starts at 9 a.m.; SMS, halter, and trail classes will be offered outside of the main show arena to give exhibitors a 4-hour time block to perform trail classes at own pace. Entries are $7/class for members of 4-H; nonmembers are $8/class.
