casinohead1Meet Casino and 200 horses this weekend, May 3–4, 2014, at the 150th Wilderness and Spotsylvania Courthouse campaign reenactment, held at the Spotsylvania Courthouse (intersection of Brock Road and the Courthouse Bypass in Spotsylvania, Va.). The horses will be participating in the reenactment of two battles, one each day, complete with regiments firing cannons and participating in hand-to-hand combat demonstrations.

Casino, a 17-year-old Thoroughbred cross, has been participating in Civil War reenactment battles for more than 10 years. His owner, Brian Gesuero, a Commander of the Confederate Army, 2nd Division, will lead his troops into battle astride Casino–“A role he loves to play, because he loves the attention!” said Gesuero.

On Saturday, the event will be held from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., with the Battle held at 2:30 p.m. Sundays events also begin at 9 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m.; the Battle will be at 1:30 p.m. For more information, including ticket prices, parking, and shuttle bus services, visit
