Bellemount Stables offers many amenities to the horse enthusiast. Once an antebellum plantation circa 1810, Bellemount Stables is owned and operated by trainer Erin Oliff Culpeper. Bellemount Stables is a family friendly 80 acre farm in Beaverdam, VA, about 10 miles off the Ladysmith exit on I95. We are a full service boarding and training facility providing hunt seat instruction, shows, camps, and more. Two large stables with matted stalls, large tack rooms, feed rooms, wash stall, and rider lounge are available to our clients.
Bellemount offers lesson programs for all levels of riders, ages four and up, on your horse or ours. Private and small group lessons are available. The lesson curriculum at Bellemount centers on hunt seat instruction, providing a solid basis of correct equitation and rider/horse communication. Extensive flatwork creates a foundation for successful jumping. Riders who wish to pursue competitive riding are outfitted with the tools necessary to pursue this goal as well. Bellemount’s objective is to create technically correct and confident hunt seat riders of all ages.
Bellemount is proud to have high school and middle school Interscholastic Equestrian Association teams. IEA helps riders ages 11-19 develop an understanding and appreciation of equestrian sports through organized student competitions. It is a great way to prepare riders who are interested in competing at the college level. Owning a horse is not necessary to compete. Any interested riders ages 11-19 capable of walk, trot, cantering may try out for the team. 2015 tryouts will be held Sunday, May 31st at 2pm and Saturday August 1st at 4pm.

Our horses and ponies are well cared for, safe and child-friendly and our facilities are well maintained. Non-horseback activates may include fishing, tennis, swimming, canoeing, cooking, arts and crafts, equestrian field trips and in-house educational seminars by equine professionals. Riders of all levels and ages are sure to gain valuable knowledge and increased skill level, while truly enjoying their time at Bellemount’s camps. 2015 dates will be posted on our website soon at www.bellemountstables.com.
