Autumn Olive Farm in Goochland, Va., will host several hunters shows this summer season: June 14, 21 and 25; July 2, 12, and 23; and Aug. 9 and 30, with the end-of-season show scheduled for Oct. 4.
They give 6 ribbons in each division along with a Champion and Reserve. Year End awards will be given at the final show of the series. The shows will be held on Saturdays except for the Wednesday afternoon hunter shows. The Wednesday afternoon hunter shows are called “POINT-GETTERS” because they help add points toward the year end final VHSA divisions.
The final hunter show in October is the annual “HOrsey Rett Syndrome Event” benefit show. The H.O.R.S.E. Benefit Show is to raise money for Rett Syndrome (see www.rettsyndrome.org) which is the developmental disorder that affects the Syndi and Scott Blunk’s daughter, Chelsi. A portion of the proceeds from this show will be donated to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation for research into this debilitating disorder. Also, we will be giving prizes to the Champion and Reserve winners in each division and – as a special addition – we will be giving trophies for “High Point Horse” Champion and Reserve of the Day (Equitation points not to count).
Pre-entries are $12/class the Thursday before the Saturday show; post-entry is $14/class. For a prize list and entry form, email email@example.com, call 804.457.3707, or visit http://www.autumnolivefarm.com/shows.
