IMG_6914_3 IMG_6911Andrew Nicholson’s two cross country rounds put him in first and second place at Rolex Saturday afternoon.  The New Zealander leads with Quimbo; Calico Joe took him into second.

In third place is Buck Davidson on Ballynoe Castle RM.  “It was a nice big bold course and the horses could see what they were going to jump,” he said.

William Fox-Pitt is in fourth place with Seacookie TSF.  He had led with Chilli Morning after Dressage, but retired that  horse on the cross country course. “He over jumped the hedge and found himself in the bottom of the bank in a bit of a heap,” Fox-Pitt said after the ride.  He said Chilli Morning was not injured,  just “frightened.”

Virginia’s two remaining riders are in the top 15.  Lynn Symansky is in sixth place with Donner, and Jan Byyny and Syd Kent are in 13th place.

Byyny withdrew her second mount, Inmidair, just before her cross country ride.  The reason is not known at this time.
